Azerbaijani Weekend School of D.C. Area has proudly been offering Azerbaijani Language, Culture, and Arts classes to the kids of the Azerbaijani-American Community since 2015. Our school is serving children aged between 4-12 according to their individual needs. To help our kids to realize their full potential, we believe it is very essential to provide them with an environment, where they could experience and practice Azerbaijani culture.

Our mission is to develop a knowledgeable child who:

• reads and comprehends Azerbaijani language,
• excels writing skills in Azerbaijani language,
• communicates effectively in Azerbaijani language, and
• can comfortably co-exist in an Azerbaijani cultural environment.

The program is delivered through the following courses:
• Azerbaijani Language and Grammar
• Azerbaijani Culture
• Azerbaijani Art

In upcoming years, we are planning to add Chess and Robotics classes to our curriculum.
The classes are taught by a team of volunteer teachers who are ambitious, highly motivated, and dedicated to bring their educational experience and knowledge to the classrooms. The parents are also closely involved in our activities; they enjoy watching the students as they perform on the national days. They strongly believe that being involved in these activities helps their children to better understand Azerbaijani cultural values.

Our aim is to ensure that our children away from their homeland, Azerbaijan, are still able to speak their native language, understand our culture and grow up without losing their identity.
